Stewed pork loin in black beer

This dish is simulated from a cook book I bought from this publishing. I like the creativity in this dish.

Step 1: Slice 2 large pieces of onion (500g) and stir fry them with chopped garlic in a hot sauce pan until they turn brown (about 15 mins).

Step 2: Cut a pork shoulder loin chunk (800g) into 8 pieces). Sear these pork pieces in another pan while doing step 1.

Step 3: Add the brown seared pork in step 2 to the sauce pan in step 1, then add a can of black beer (350ml), some thyme, bay leaves, black pepper and 1/2 tsp of salt. Cover with a lid and simmer for 1 hour until the pork is tender.
