Canned sardine steamed with veggies, nuts and blueberry
This is a very simple dish, but it is so nutritious with varied ingredients that are unimaginably combinable. It is also healthy for our body thanks to the steam cook instead of frying in oil. By the way, I learn this dish from Yue Matsushima, who wrote an interesting cook book just released this November.
Approach it with an open mind, and you'll discover the exotic fusion of tender canned sardines, crispy walnuts, moist cabbage, and fruity blueberries. It resembles a salad, featuring the sweet and savory notes of fish, the tartness of berries, and the earthy touch of walnuts.
To prepare, place 2 cans of oil sardines (150g), 1/4 of a cabbage (400g), 40g of walnuts, and 30 blueberries into a large pan. Sprinkle a pinch of salt (about 1/4 tsp) and add vinegar (about 1.5 tbsp). Cover the pan and simmer over low heat for 12 minutes. Remove the pan and savor this exotic dish.
