Beef thinly sliced salad

 

This dish is very easy, but you need fish sauce :)

Step 1: Slice diagonally 50g onion (about 1/4 piece), green bell peppers (2 pieces) and prepare 200g thinly sliced beef (or beef shabu-shabu as the way Japanese people call it).

Step 2: Soak sliced onion and peppers in iced water for 15 minutes, then drain through a colander and rinse under running cold water. Tap kitchen towel or use salad spinner to dry the vegetables. 

Step 3: Boil some water with a pinch of salt, then blanch quickly all beef slices. Just as soon as they turn color (from fresh red to pale), put them into a colander and let them sit for 5 minutes to cool down. 

Step 4: Mix beef in step 3 with veggies in step 2, together with some slices of fresh red pepper if you like spicy. Pour the following combination: grounded or chopped 1 clove of garlic, 2 tbsp of fish sauce, 1 tbsp of lime, a pinch of salt, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Mix well. Let all ingredients well blended for 10 minutes, then dish out.
