Strawberry stuffed French Toast

This time, French toast is stuffed with strawberry and cream cheese. This recipe from Hannah Miles is amazing, but I think the sugar is a bit too much. If you are on a diet or dislike sugar, you should reduce the sugar by half.

Also, usual French toast is about bread slices dipped in a mixture of egg, milk and cinnamon powder. Here, the mixture is egg, heavy cream, and sugar, so it can be a little bit too fatty for you as well. You can try other low-fat milk instead. These changes will not affect the taste of the French toast, especially if you prequently consume little sugar.

Below is the summarized recipe for 4 slices of bread. Instead of sandwiches, today I have a bulk white bread so I can make baggy french toast more easily with my cutting skill:) You can also use brioche instead of white bread. Brioche is just more fatty than white bread.

Make sure you have in hands 200-300g strawberries. And instead of cream cheese, you can use mascarpone cheese. The recipe below is actually crafted by me so that I feel more comfortable with my cooking style.

Step 1: prepare the sauce. Use a half of your strawberries and cook with 80ml of water and 20-50g of sugar. Simmer in a pot on a gentle heat for about 10-15 minutes. During this time, do step 2.

Step 2: prepare the filling. Stir the vanilla seeds into the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Cut the remainig strawberries into small pieces and mix into the cheese.

Step 3: stuff the filling into baggy slices, like this. Then dip the slices into the mixture of egg (1-2 eggs), heavy cream (80ml), and sugar (1 tbsp).

Step 4: fry the French toast as usually done. Serve hot.
